Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir suffers shoulder injury

As reported by L’ÉquipeAS Monaco forward Eliesse Ben Seghir (18) has suffered a shoulder injury and is could be absent for several weeks.

Ben Seghir has seen his minutes severely limited this season. He was the breakout star for the Principality club last season, scoring a brace on his debut against Auxerre and consolidating his place in Philippe Clement’s starting XI. The France youth international played a prominent role in pre-season but suffered a thigh injury just before the start of the Ligue 1 campaign.

He only recently returned, coming off the bench in the dying stages of Monaco’s last two games. However, as he recovers his fitness, Ben Seghir has been playing with the Groupe Élite. He featured against Lille’s reserve side on Monday and suffered a shoulder injury. His period of unavailability is currently unknown, however, it is thought that he could be absent for several weeks.
