Gennaro Gattuso compares Amine Harit to Kaká

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Olympique de Marseille manager Gennaro Gattuso compared Amine Harit (26) to Brazil legend Kaká, with whom he played at AC Milan.

Harit began life well under Igor Tudor in the 2022/23 season, quickly winning the trust of the Croatian coach before earning a spot in Morocco’s World Cup squad. However, Harit, ultimately, wouldn’t make it to Qatar. An ACL injury against AS Monaco in November brought his season to a premature end, and he only made his return under Marcelino at the start of this season. The Moroccan international was slowly eased back into action under the Spaniard, and as he refound his fitness, his form followed.

Harit has quickly asserted himself under Gattuso, who replaced Marcelino in late September. The FC Nantes academy product already has five assists in 11 appearances in all competitions this season, and he is garnering high praise from his manager, who compared him to former Ballon d’Or winner Kaká.

If I were to compare him to someone? Honestly, he makes me think of Kaká, but he is different because he didn’t dribble so much and he had a different stride. What makes [Harit] unique is his first touch, which always makes the difference, and his vision of the game, which is worthy of a great player,” said Gattuso in a pre-match press conference, transcribed by Eurosport
