Lyon president Santiago Cucci to leave the club

According to L’Équipe, Lyon president Santiago Cucci is set to be dismissed from his duties by John Textor and leave the club. Despite being removed as president of OL, he is still expected to work in some capacity within Textor’s wider football ownership group – Eagle Football.

Cucci, who was appointed as the successor to Jean Michel-Aulas after his turbulent departure from the Groupama Stadium, has only been in place as Lyon’s president for three and a half months. The Basque-born president’s departure will officially be confirmed in the coming weeks. Cucci is not the only person to be shuffled around within OL in recent weeks following Vincent Ponsot’s new appointment as General Manager of Lyon Women

Santiago Cucci was only viewed as an interim appointment as the club’s president and Textor has now already identified his successor at Lyon, who should be confirmed in the coming days. Cucci is expected to still appear before the DNCG in a month’s time on behalf of OL.
