Official | Paul Mitchell leaves Monaco, Thiago Scuro becomes general manager in club reshuffle

AS Monaco have confirmed the departure of Paul Mitchell. His successor, Thiago Scuro, arrived in July, but the Englishman had remained at the Principality club in order to ensure a smooth transition.

In a show of confidence from Dmitry Rybolovlev in Scuro, who arrived as sporting director, has a new title as general manager, which will allow him to oversee all of the club’s activities, both sporting and administrative. Ben Lambrecht has therefore left the club by mutual consent. He had been at the club since December 2022, when he replaced Jean-Emmanuel de Witt.

The changes to the club structure were confirmed during a meeting of the administrative council on Monday, during which Scuro’s appointment as a member of the council was confirmed. It was during this meeting that Mitchell’s departure was confirmed. He announced in the Spring that he would not be renewing his contract with Monaco, however, he did not put a timescale on his departure. His focus these past months has been on ensuring a smooth transition and providing an element of continuity in the project. Les Monégasques are currently top of Ligue 1 following their victory over Olympique de Marseille last weekend.
