L’Équipe and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed that Ângelo Gabriel (18) will join RC Strasbourg Alsace on loan from Chelsea for the 2023/24 season.
When Gabriel, a long-term Strasbourg target, joined Chelsea earlier this summer, it was expected that he would join Les Alscaiens. That loan move was in doubt after a report from Di Marzio suggested that the Brazilian had sufficiently impressed Mauricio Pochettino to remain with the Premier League side this season.
However, Gabriel is now on the verge of a loan move to Ligue 1. He will continue his development with Strasbourg before returning to Stamford Bridge. Romano is also reporting that Chelsea also want to send Deivid Washington (18) on loan to the Alsace club, who were integrated into the BlueCo family earlier this summer.
Chelsea must first complete the deal, which is not yet a certainty. According to Foot Mercato, the Blues face notable competition from AS Monaco. The Principality club’s new sporting director, Thiago Scuro, has travelled to Brazil to convince the player of a move to Les Monégasques.
