Warren Zaïre-Emery nearing PSG contract extension

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are on the cusp of finalising a contract extension with midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (17). The 2006-born midfielder has quickly become an emerging star in Luis Enrique’s PSG side and is reportedly considered as the “perfect face of the project” for the French capital club.

Romano reports that a swap deal with Manchester City was never considered despite the links to the player. RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins reported in June that City asked for the 17-year-old in exchange for Bernardo Silva – who was strongly coveted by the French champions.

Zaïre-Emery has become a key player in Luis Enrique’s midfield and has been described as even ‘undroppable’ for the Spaniard’s iteration of PSG this season. The youngster, who captains the France U21 side managed by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, has played in all seven of PSG’s matches this season.
