PSG predicted XI v Auxerre: League leaders on the verge of title

Paris Saint-Germain can secure a record-breaking eleventh Ligue 1 title on Sunday evening with a win at Auxerre, ending a tumultuous year on a positive note.

Anything but a loss against the relegation battlers will be mathematically enough if Lens fail to beat Lorient earlier in the evening, while a win will effectively wrap things up anyway no matter the Artois side’s result given their goal difference advantage.

Although absent for Friday’s training session due to a knee issue, Marco Verratti has been included in the matchday squad, although Vitinha appears likely to take his spot in the starting eleven. With Nordi Mukiele out for the rest of the campaign and Achraf Hakimi suspended again, the young Warren Zaïre-Emery is expected to feature in the right full-back role again.

His fellow prospect Hugo Ekitike will have another chance to prove his worth alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, having impressed against Ajaccio but failed to make it into the scoresheet in the 5-0 win. The France captain, meanwhile, will be looking to go back ahead of Alexandre Lacazette in the Ligue 1 scoring charts, with the two forwards level on 26 goals for the season.

PSG likely lineup v Auxerre

Gianluigi Donnarumma – Warren Zaïre-Emery, Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos, Danilo, Bernat – Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz – Messi – Ekitike, Mbappé.
