How can France qualify for Euro 2024 this evening?

Les Bleus will face the Netherlands tonight (20:45 CET) on the brink of qualification for this summer’s UEFA Euro 2024 finals set to take place in Germany, but in what scenarios will Didier Deschamps’ France qualify for the competition this evening?

With an impeccable record of five victories in as many matches in the qualification stage, France travel to Amsterdam having accumulated 15 points in their last five qualification matches, leaving them just one win away from sealing their place at Euro 2024.

As they prepare to face the Netherlands at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, there are two possible scenarios that could seal France’s qualification:

  • Victory in the Netherlands – If the French emerge victorious against Ronald Koeman’s dutch side, their ticket to Euro 2024 will be confirmed.
  • Draw in the Netherlands and Greek Defeat in Ireland – In the event of a draw in Amsterdam and a concurrent loss for Greece in Ireland, France will still celebrate their qualification.

The Netherlands sit behind France in the qualifying Group B. The Dutch lost to France 4-0 at the Stade de France in the reverse fixture, with Kylian Mbappé scoring a brace whilst Antoine Griezmann and Dayot Upamecano also got themselves on the scoresheet.
