Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mané could return for PSG Champions League clash

In his press conference this afternoon, Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has indicated that injured striker Sadio Mané could make a recovery in time to face Paris Saint-Germain, the Champions League knockout clash now only a month away.

His words translated in L’Équipe, the German coach indicated that the former Liverpool man, who underwent a knee operation in November for an injury that kept him out of the World Cup, is ahead of schedule in his recovery.

Nagelsmann points out there there are still risks to deploying the Senegal international, but that on Wednesday he was able to run “at 70%”, which is faster than what was expected of him. However, he adds that he does not want to give an exact time frame on Mané’s return, even if there is indeed a chance that he could be back in action in time for the trip to the Parc des Princes come Saint Valentine’s Day.
