Over-achieving Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne have all but officially confirmed one of the very first deals of this imminent transfer window by signing bottom-of-the-pile Nancy’s winger Yohan Mollo on a loan until the end of the season.
It is thought that there is a buy-out clause in the deal which St-Etienne can activate at the end of the season, in the likely event that Nancy are relegated.
In what looks like a strange strategy by Nancy, sacrificing arguably their most prominent attacking player; it is thought that they could not afford Mollo’s reportedly large wages, and will look for cheap deals to bring in reinforcements in the defensive area.
