Official | Jean-Kévin Duverne signs for Nantes

FC Nantes have officially announced the signing of Jean-Kévin Duverne (26) on a four-year deal. The experienced defender was a free agent following the end of his contract with Stade Brestois last June.

The RC Lens youth product is able to fill in as a centre-back and can also feature as a left-back. Nantes were in the market for defensive reinforcements following the sale of Andrei Girotto to Al-Tawoon and doubts surrounding the future of Jean-Charles Castelletto. Last week, the Cameroon international centre-back asked Les Canaris to let him leave.

Duverne has played 121 games with Stade Brestois in the last four seasons. Les Canaris have conducted a large-scale revamp of Pierre Aristouy’s squad. The Haitian defender is the eighth signing of the summer transfer window. Nantes have already signed defender Eray Cömert, defensive midfielder Lamine Diack, Arsenal winger Marquinhos and striker Matthis Abline on loan. Right-back Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel, midfielder Douglas Augusto and attacking midfielder Adson all signed in permanent moves. Nantes will host second-placed Marseille on Friday for Ligue 1’s fourth matchweek.
