Marco Verratti out for PSG v Lens with hamstring injury

Paris Saint-Germain’s final training session ahead of tomorrow’s top-of-the-table clash against Lens saw Marco Verratti remain in the treatment room, with the Italian still recovering from a hamstring injury. The midfielder had also been out of action for the win against Nice last week.

On top of the host of other players who are set to miss out on the rest of the season – Nordi Mukiele, Neymar, Presnel Kimpembe – the Italian international is joined on the sidelines by right-back Timothée Pembélé, who is recovering from a knee issue and remained in the gym this morning.

The league leaders sit six points clear as they host the Sang et Or on Saturday evening, with Franck Haise’s able to cut the gap down to three points should they do the double over the reigning champions. PSG will be looking to set aside a tumultuous week of off-pitch news – centred around accusations of racism aimed at Christophe Galtier – and take one step closer to securing a recording-breaking 11th league title.
