Official | Former Toulouse striker Rhys Healey joins Watford

English Championship side Watford have announced the arrival of stirker Rhys Healey, who left Toulouse at the end of the past campaign after three years in the south of France.

The former Cardiff forward has missed the majority of Les Violets‘ first season back in the top flight owing to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but did score twice in his four top-flight appearances – once in the first three fixtures of the season, and another on his return for the final day.

Healey first arrived from MK Dons and found the net 35 times across two seasons in Ligue 2, playing a key role in last season’s second-tier title win. He was not involved, however, in this season’s Coupe de France run.

The Manchester-born striker’s move to Watford sees him return to the Championship for the first time since his Cardiff days, with his sole goal in the division coming during the 2016/17 campaign. However, he returns to the other side of the Channel a more established goalscorer, who will be expected to make an impact up front.
