Earliest rumours circulating that Messi could be out for up to three weeks. Look at our twitter for more.

FT: PSG 2-2 Barcelona: You could not get a more deserving player to score that goal than Matuidi. He has been PSG’s most consistent player this season and no matter how it went in, it is a great moment for him. Overall, PSG were brilliant in the first half, but Barcelona were probably better in the second. Messi opened the scoring after a great ball by Alves, but then had to go off and Barca’s attacking threat lessened. PSG got one back, which should have been disallowed for offside and then in a moment of madness by Sirigu, Barca got a penalty and went ahead. Matuidi’s goal rescues a deserved point for PSG. WHAT A GAME. Matuidi suspended for next week, but with Messi and Puyol possibly out and Mascherano suspended, PSG can win!

90+4′ GOAL PSG: Ibra knocks the ball back to Matuidi at the edge of the box after a great ball by Jallet. The ball goes through Valdes with the last kick of the game and roles into the net. Should have done much better. PSG have got a draw. 2-2

90+2′ PSG still trying very hard here. Ibra offside again at the vital time.

90′ Four minutes for Barcelona to get a goal here, as Ibra nets, but is offside.

89′ GOAL BARCELONA: Xavi slots the ball home past Sirigu. What a shame for PSG. Looks like they will now lose this leg. 1-2

88′ PENALTY TO BARCA: Sanchez takes a touch past Sirigu, but the goalkeeper brings him down and is booked.

86′ Ball played through for Gameiro, but the ball takes a strange bounce and does not fall for him. Ibra booked for a clumsy challenge whilst trying to chase the ball down.

85′ Dani Alves is booked for dissent. Barca furious that the referee did not blow up when their players were down for the earlier Ibra chance, which led to the goal.

83′ Bartra and Tello are on for Villa and Mascherano. The later being stretchered off.

80′ GOAL PSG: The ball comes in from a freekick which Thiago Silva is only able to hit against the post with a header. Ibra is there to poach the goal and knock it into the net. He was offside, but they do not care. 1-1. He has redeemed himself from that chance seconds before. PSG still pressing for another.

78′ CHANCE: Ibra is played onside by an injured Barca player on the ground, but he hits a glorious opportunity straight at the keeper. Huge chance missed. Barca furious that they played on.

75‘ Mascherano makes a clumsy challenge on the edge of the box, which means that he is booked and out of the second leg. Gameiro comes on as well for Pastore

74′ Barcelona with a freekick on the edge of the box, which takes a deflection and lands on the roof of the net

71′: Ex-Barca man Maxwell runs down the left and hits a shot straight at Valdes with his wrong foot. There were options in the centre.

70′ Beckham does indeed come off. He is replaced by 20 year old Marco Verratti

69′: CHANCE: Alves bends the resulting freekick just wide of the post for Barcelona. So close to being two

68′ Beckham booked for PSG for a tired tackle. Time to sub him off I would think. Freekick

65′ Menez getting ready to come on for PSG for Lavezzi. Matuidi is also booked for a trip on Iniesta meaning that he will miss the second leg.

63′ Alba is booked for a push on Lucas. Barca then come forward, but Alexis Sanchez loses the ball in the box. A better touch would have caused a good chance.

61′ Lucas Moura wins the ball brilliantly on the half way line, but Ibra falls over at the vital moment and losses the ball. On another note, Alexis Sanchez has been non-existent so far.

58′ Ibra scoops the ball over the top of the Barca defense, but Matuidi is stopped by a Pique clearance. PSG have once again been the better team this half, but they are mainly coming forward on the break

56′ It is three against one as PSG break, but Ibra is unable to thread the ball through. Minutes later, the player wastes a good chance at the back post.

54′ PSG are pushing men forward in numbers and leaving themselves open for the break. They sort of have to though, as they need a goal.

51′ PSG break and Matuidi looks to have been blocked off on the edge of the box. The ball had already gone. Should have been given.

50′ The ball is played into the box for Fabregas, but his shot is blocked by Thiago Silva. Busquets hits a shot from the resulting corner straight at Sirigu

46′ Jallet floats the ball into the box for Pastore who has a chance for a shot, but poor control means that the move breaks down.

SUB: Fabregas comes on for the injured Messi at half time.

We are about to get back underway at the Parc des Princes

Lucas Moura is showing his class and Thiago Silva has been brilliant. Beckham has been fairly good. He has played some good balls and not done anything wrong. He has chased back more than one would think. How much longer can he last, however?

HT: PSG 0-1 Barcelona: The home side were the better team for thirty eight minutes. Lavezzi almost scored when the ball bounced and hit the post and Ibrahimovic has also had a few good chances. Messi, who had been quiet due to some excellent defending, suddenly came alive and tucked the ball home after a beautiful ball by Alves. PSG will not be dis-heartened however, due to their performance, and the fact that Messi was feeling his hamstring at the end of the half can only be a good thing. It has been a half packed with entertainment. Lets hope for more next half.

44′ Messi has pulled up on his hamstring. Clearly struggling. Good news for PSG. Barca trying to get him through till half time. Fabregas warming up.

42′ CHANCE: Messi has come alive as he cuts inside and floats one just over the crossbar. So close. PSG hoping to stay only one down at the break now.

40′ STAT: Messi is now the first player in the history of the Champions League to score in 20 different cities

38′ GOAL BARCELONA: He has been quiet all game, but Messi puts the away side ahead. Alves floats a lovely ball in behind the PSG defence. Thiago Silva does not track Messi’s run and he is there to tuck home with a cool finish against the run of play. 0-1

37′ Sanchez hits one from the edge of the box, but Sirigu is there to tip it wide. Barca coming back into it.

35′ Barcelona break after Ibra loses the ball. Dani Alves wins a corner, but Thiago Silva heads clear.

32′ Thiago Silva has been brilliant once again for PSG, as he cuts another ball out. He has taken those Barton comments in his stride.

28′ Messi is being shut out every time he comes forward at the moment. The game plan is working for PSG. The Argentinian has been non-existent

26′ CHANCE: PSG break after a period of sustained pressure from Barca. Lucas uses his pace to run the field and plays it into Ibra, who can only scuff it wide. Should have done better.

22′ Messi darts into the box, but Thiago Silva cuts it out brilliantly. PSG break, but Ibrahimovic loses it.

21′ PSG the better team so far. More chances, the same amount of possession. Beckham has done nothing wrong so far.

19′ SAVE: Ibra hits the freekick hard along the ground. Good reaction save by Valdes. Saw it late. PSG really pressing. Beckham would have fancied that one.

18′ Ibra is brought down on the edge of the box by Pique. Yellow card.

17‘ Alves crosses the ball into the PSG box, but Thiago Silva heads it away. Iniesta curls one just wide. Very good effort. Sirigu was beaten.

14′ Lucas wins a freekick which Becks whips in. The ball comes back out to Pastore, who lashes a shot towards the goal, which Valdes clutches at the second attempt. PSG doing well.

13′ The corner comes in. Alex rises highest, but is only able to make minimal contact and the ball goes out for a goalkick.

12′ Lucas Moura latches on to a ball from Beckham and wins a corner. Beckham to whip it in.

8′ Dani Alves plays the ball into Messi on the edge of the box, but after a string of passes, Barcelona are only able to put a tame shot wide. Iniesta then plays a lovely ball through the PSG defense, but Villa does not reach it.

5′ BIG CHANCE PSG: Lavezzi wriggles into the box and cuts back past Busquets. The defender is only able to play the ball against his own post. So unlucky for the Ligue 1 side. PSG still on the attack.

4′ Sanchez down wriggles past Jallet down the right, but the Frenchman gets the ball in the end. PSG then win a string off freekicks further up the field. They are just passing the ball around in their own half at the moment.

2′ PSG have not touched the ball yet! All Barcelona in the opening minutes. Alves runs down the right, but is penalised for a push.

We have kicked off!!

Players come out to all the crowd holding up blue and red flags. Looks a bit too much like Barcelona’s colours to me. All about to kick off in a few minutes.

Very loud atmosphere in the Parc des Princes. The crowd really going to be a 12 man tonight for PSG.

Beckham: “Zlatan is a player that can do something special against anyone.”

STAT: Barcelona have not lost in the Champions League under this referee.

Beckham starts for PSG. It is a huge call from Ancelotti in PSG’s biggest match of the season. It is a chance for Beckham to prove that he is not past it. It is a decision that possibly puts Ancelotti’s job on the line if it backfires. Alex is preferred to Sakho once again. The Beckham decision means that Matuidi is likely to have to do a lot more running than usual and in my mind makes PSG very susceptible. Barcelona pick Sanchez over Tello and Busquets over Fabregas, meaning that it is a move defensive line up than thought. Barcelona do not lack any attacking threat however!

STAT: PSG have only won four of their last eight.

STAT: If Messi scores tonight, he will become the first player in the Champions League to score a goal in 20 different cities

STAT: PSG have not lost for 24 home games in Europe

STAT: Ezequiel Lavezzi has scored 5 goals in his last 4 Champions League games.

FC Barcelona XI: Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Alba, Xavi Busquets, Iniesta, Sanchez, Messi, Villa

PSG XI: Sirigu, Silva, Alex, Maxwell, Jallet, Matuidi, Pastore, Lucas, Beckham, Lavezzi, Ibrahimović
