Manchester United hold talks to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi

Foot Mercato report this morning that Manchester United have recently met with the entourage of Monaco defender Axel Disasi to discuss a potential summer move.

The French international, who remains under contract with the Principality side for another two years, has been the subject of interest from various clubs on the other side of the Channel. The Red Devils, though, are the first to have made a move, having met with the 25-year-old’s people two weeks ago.

Disasi, who is valued at €50m, has also reportedly caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. In any case, it appears unlikely that the former Reims man will stay put this summer, as he prepares to leave Monaco after three seasons which have seen him impose himself as one of Ligue 1’s finest defenders. This year, he has appeared in all of the team’s league games, chipping in with two goals and three assists. He was called up for the World Cup, in which he was notably used in an unfamiliar right-back position, replacing Benjamin Pavard.
