Marseille interested in Inter forward Joaquín Correa

Having been unable to renew Alexis Sánchez’s contract for an additional year, Marseille are now looking at alternative options to replace the Chilean veteran, who was their top scorer last season.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Ligue 1 side have identified Inter forward Joaquín Correa as a potential option, and have been in contact with the Argentine’s agent. The two clubs have not held discussions yet. Sánchez, meanwhile, is closing in on a return to Milan, only a year after leaving on a free transfer to France.

Correa, whose move from Lazio to Inter was made permanent last summer, is also the subject of interest from Lille, according to a report from Foot Mercato earlier today. The French publication have also confirmed that Marseille are interested. Despite joining on a €27m deal, the 29-year-old only scored four goals for the Champions League finals last year, and was an unused substitute in the Nerazzurri’s first game of the campaign against Monza.
