Rennes predicted XI v PSG: Nemanja Matić to start against Les Parisiens

After defeating their bitter rivals Nantes in the Breton derby, Rennes will look to clinch a second famous home league win on the bounce against Paris Saint-Germain.

Both PSG and Stade Rennais have lost this week in their respective continental duties. Les Parisiens have been comprehensively beaten by Newcastle United in the Champions League whilst Les Rouge et Noir have fallen short at Villarreal in their Europa League’s Group F.

After doing the double last season against Christophe Galtier’s PSG, Bruno Genesio intends to mount the pressure on Luis Enrique. The former Olympique Lyonnais head coach is expected to field the players who did not start at La Ceramica on Thursday.

Experienced Serbian Nemanja Matić is therefore set to anchor the hosts’ midfield alongside club captain Benjamin Bourigeaud. Switzerland international playmaker Fabian Rieder is also expected to get the nod from Genesio. Former PSG youth product Arnaud Kalimuendo is set to start up front. Martin Terrier, who missed a penalty for his return to the team against Villarreal, will probably come off the bench at some point tonight.

Rennes likely lineup against PSG

Steve Mandanda – Lorenz Assignon, Warmed Omari, Arthur Theate, Adrien Truffiert – Nemanja Matić, Benjamin Bourigeaud – Ludovic Blas, Fabian Rieder, Amine Gouiri – Arnaud Kalimuendo
