Official | Prolific Gambia U20 international Adama Bojang joins Reims

Stade de Reims have confirmed the arrival of 19-year-old Gambian striker Adama Bojang. The youth international has signed a four-year deal with the Champagne side.

Bojang has the not-so-enviable task of replacing Folarin Balogun’s goals at Reims. The USMNT international was one of the revelations in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 21 goals in 37 games in the French top flight. However, as expected, the move was not made permanent and Balogun, therefore, returned to parent club Arsenal. His future with the Gunners remains in the balance with Inter Milan interested in securing the services of the former Reims loanee.

Bojang was one of the revelations of the U20 African Cup of Nations, taking the Gambia to the final of the competition. In 10 appearances for the Gambia U20 side, he already has six goals.

For Gambian side Steve Biko FC, Bojang had scored six goals in his previous four matches, but he now begins a new adventure in Europe and will be looking to break into a Reims side that will be looking to build upon last season’s mid-table finish.
