Noah Fadiga’s Brest contract terminated over heart problems

Senegal international right-back Noah Fadiga has announced this afternoon on his Instagram page that he has been released by Brest over an “irregular heartbeat” that was detected in the medical tests that the squad underwent at the end of the season.

The Club Brugge academy product indicates that he later had further tests with cardiologist Pedro Brugada, who gave him the green light to continue his professional football career.

However, Fadiga indicates that his French FA license has now been revoked as a result of the federation’s zero-tolerance policy on cardiac issues. As a result, he is now a free agent, but points out that he is determined to continue his career elsewhere – he will now have to find a club outside of French football.

During his sole season in Brittany – having joined from Heracles last summer – Fadiga made 21 appearances and scored once, as the club finished in 14th place in Ligue 1.
