Arsenal stranded in London ahead of travelling to Lens due to bad weather

According to L’Équipe, Arsenal have been stranded in London ahead of travelling to France for their Champions League clash against Lens. Mikel Arteta’s team have had their travel plans affected by bad weather in the English capital. The Gunners’ flight was due to take off at a delayed time of 6pm UK time but torrential weather conditions saw it deemed unsafe to travel.

The private jet carrying the North London club’s players was stuck on the tarmac ahead of their pending flight to Pas-de-Calais. The flight was only scheduled to take around 40 minutes. Mikel Arteta’s pre-match press conference was due to commence at 7pm local time but has since been cancelled.

Lens will play host to last season’s Premier League runners-up on Tuesday night at the Stade Bollaert-Delilis. However, Arsenal are yet to make it to Nothern France ahead of the fixture. The Gunners will be hoping to make it two wins from two in France after their emphatic opening match week victory against PSV and Lens will be hoping to build upon a positive result against Sevilla.
