Al Ettifaq reach agreement to sign PSG’s Georginio Wijnaldum

L’Équipe are reporting that Al Ettifaq have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum (32).

The French publication are reporting that an agreement between the club has been reached in the past hours. The deal will be worth around €8m. Fabrizio Romano first reported the Saudi club’s interest in the former Liverpool midfielder. PSG were keen to sell given that he has been training in the “loft” with the “undesirable” since returning from his loan spell at AS Roma. The player had reportedly been keen to terminate his contract with Les Parisiens, however, the club wanted to garner a fee, which they now look set to have done.

If Wijnaldum was to swap Paris for Saudi Arabia, which he now looks like doing, he would be joining up with former teammate and captain Jordan Henderson who made the switch from Liverpool earlier in the summer window. Former Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé has also made the switch to the club managed by Steven Gerrard this summer.
