Fulham consider Yann M’Vila as João Palhinha replacement

Fulham FC are considering signing French midfielder and free agent Yann M’Vila (33) as a replacement for the departing João Palhinha (28), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

28-year-old Palhinha is poised to join Bayern Munich in the coming hours. The Brazilian has reportedly agreed to the move. With Fulham set to part ways with their starting defensive midfielder, the Cottagers would need to dip into the market to find a replacement before the summer transfer window closes this Friday. The outlet understands that M’Vila has been identified by Marco Silva’s side as the player able to fill the Palhinha-shaped hole in the Cottagers’ midfield.

M’Vila was seen as France’s brightest prospect in the defensive midfielder role during his breakout season with Stade Rennais. He then joined Rubin Kazan ten years ago in a €13m deal before being loaned out to several European outfits, including Sunderland and Inter Milan. The 22-times France international has played for Olympiakos the last three seasons, winning two league titles in Greece. The outlet adds that M’Vila was also being considered by Olympique de Marseille.
