Edouard Michut to remain at PSG amid Sunderland interest

PSG midfielder Edouard Michut (20) is expected to remain at Paris Saint-Germain for the time being, according to a report from Le Parisien.

L’Équipe reported yesterday that Sunderland were looking to re-sign the PSG youth product, who spent the 2022/23 Championship season on loan with the Black Cats. Michut, whose contract at PSG runs until 2025, made 28 appearances for Sunderland, scoring once.

Michut has been training away from Luis Enrique’s senior squad and has spent the summer in the “loft” training with the “undesirables” the likes of Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler. Apart from Sunderland, Serie A sides Salernitana and Lecce were also reportedly keeping tabs on Michut.

Le Parisien are now reporting that the France U20 international will not leave his formative club tonight when the summer transfer window closes. The outlet adds that a way out is still possible in Belgium, Switzerland and Greece, whose transfer windows shut later this month.
